We’re so honoured that world renowned designer Hayley Paige took some time out of her busy schedule to answer our interview questions! We’ve learned that her approach to her craft is very individualistic – each gown that she creates is as unique as each bride’s spirit. She clearly displays a positive and laid-back attitude and we love her last bits of advice for brides! Read on to learn more about one of our fave designers and what drives her to design her amazing creations.

*1) From where do you draw inspiration for your designs?*

For me, inspiration is multi-faceted and always personality-based. I love harvesting different energies in each individual dress just as each bride embodies a fantastically different spirit. My goal is to continually keep in touch with my imagination; to be truly authentic you must be willing to take risks and always be evolving.

*2) Do you design with a particular kind of bride in mind?*

It is so meaningful to seek a bone deep comprehension of the bride I design for. I find her to be as unique as she is chic, and I design with her substantial individuality in mind. Tapping into her enthusiasm and candid happiness allows me to create a world that is truly magical.

*3) What is your favorite piece that you’ve created?*

This is like choosing a favorite child! I want to say Guindon because she really represented a moment of true newness for the Hayley Paige aesthetic and also gave me that gumption to take risks creatively. But I also love Dori; Dori is just a magical dress and blossomed from what was originally supposed to be for editorial only.

*4) What do you love the most about what you do?*

I think the best part is knowing that there is always another beautiful girl around the corner and another beautiful gown for her to fall in love with!

*5) What advice can you give to brides who are still searching for their dream dress?*

It’s important not to over intellectualize the process or succumb to the pressure of encompassing it all. Every bride has a different and unique experience in finding her dress. This is a happy moment, so maintain the “happy” and allow yourself to feel “all the feels.” I would also avoid bringing too many people to your gown appointment and keep an open mind, especially if you are already in love with something on paper/Instagram. You won’t truly be able to make a decision until you are that beautiful girl, standing in front of an oversize mirror in a fabulous dress!
