Storing your dress safely

Tip 1
Keep your gown stored, either hung or folded in the breathable fabric garment bag it arrived in. Wrapping your dress in plastic could lead to discolouration. Your dress will be perfectly safe stored in the bag until you’re ready to start your alterations!

Tip 2
Store your dress in a temperature controlled space (no basements or attics; anything with excessive moisture) and out of direct sunlight – so a bedroom or hall closet is ideal.

Tip 3
If your dress has straps ensure that it is hung by the satin hanger loops. The weight of the dress over time may cause the straps to stretch.

Tip 4
Resist the urge to touch or try it on. We know this one is tricky, but the oils on our skin can lead to discolouration.
